I have been climbing some great crack climbs around Perth.
Can anyone recommend any awesome crack climbs in WA? (Any grade and height)February 2, 2016 at 12:00 am #156276
Crack climbs? Perth? You have a list?
Not famous for them. There’s one at Boomer crag. Easy ones Usurper Mt Quarry, maybe Tap Tap Tremble, Churchmans. Some bizarre ones in the bush around wombat rocks. the top of Crisis Master in Boya. Slot Machine , Darlington. Power Play, kind of.
None of them really crack climbs, except maybe Slot Machine.February 2, 2016 at 11:10 am #156280
There are some nice ones at Mt Randall. You’ve possibly already come across them.
In the Three Sisters area there are 4; grades 14, 17, 19 and a super skinny crack 21. All short, maybe 6 metres? Definitely need to tape up for the 17 and 19.
In the Freefall area, an excellent 18 called Freefall. There are a number of funky cracks lurking in the boulders scattered in this area.
Also a fun grade 14 at Kalamunda Boulders. Very clean and doesn’t need taping, takes mid to larger cams. Not the cruisey piece expected at this grade.February 2, 2016 at 11:45 am #156282
Sundance crack is the only decent one I can think of around Perth.
Kalbarri has Kalbarri Gold (27)
WCH has Tombstone (20), The Climb (18), Dancing the Deep Blue has a nice crack part (26). Take the Plunge has a good crack at the top (19)
Peak Head has Baylec Direct (18), Storm in a Teacup has some good crack sections (21)
Mt Franklin has Silence of the Cams (19)
WA is no Frog Buttress though…. 🙁February 2, 2016 at 1:26 pm #156283
Sundance Crack at Avon Valley, Turbo Crack at Llama Rock, Boomer Crack at Pinjarra.February 2, 2016 at 9:44 pm #156292

Not sure if you want climbs with lots of crack climbing (e.g jamming) or climbs that climb up cracks (e.g power play).
