The CAWA forum has just been upgraded to some new software. Visually, you won’t see many differences yet as it is mostly behind the scenes. However it is now a firm foundation for adding new features.

    Bookmarks
Please update your bookmarks to point to https://www.climberswa.asn.au/forum. Old bookmarks should still continue to work.

    Formatting
You will notice that links and basic formatting can now be added to posts. In the short term, you need to know HTML to do that. Soon we will add formatting toolbar to make it easier.

    Email notifications
Email notifications for replies to your posts should continue as before.

    Problems
Please post them in this thread or email me at markw@climberswa.asn.au.

Some of the freshness numbers seem out by a lot.

Yep. We are getting a bit of spam, which is being filtered correctly, but is screwing up the freshness. Hopefully will be fixed in a few days.

    Hi,

I have noticed one change which i don’t like as much…

Forum topics used to be all on one page which meant easy searching for topics etc. now i have to click through 37 of pages to find the topic i wanted.

If you could either add a search function or have the topics on the one page again it would be good.

I have only just starting browsing this site and was finding some nifty tips in the old posts, but now its a bit more time consuming to look at the old ones.

    Cheers,
    Toby

I’ve been keen to add search functionality but there is currently a defect in the software (bbpress) which prevents search results from displaying properly.

In the meantime, you can try a google search using “site:climberswa.asn.au” in your search query. E.g., site:climberswa.asn.au Albany shows all pages on the site that mention Albany.

Ugh, we started getting spammed hard over the weekend, receving 300+ messages per day. The problem now appears to be under control.

Apologies to anyone that received bogus followups to their posts.
