FrancisGuestRopes breaking do to minor contamination of common place chemicals including cleaning products or battery acid. This is a scary thought, do we each think twice about where we put down a rope? Do we chuck it in the car boot or back of a ute without a rope bag? Do we momentarily place the rope on something while packing or unpacking equipment from vehicles?
Even the smallest contamination due to some unnoticed chemical spillage around a rope could result in death, be warned the contamination is unlikely to be detectable until a rope fails.
Be careful of your rope placement and storage everybody.
