Just a heads up to anyone heading up to Kalbarri in the coming weeks. I was up there climbing on the ANZAC weekend and the flies were going nuts due to recent rains. Take a fly net or prepare to swallow your RDI of fly protein before you reach the first crux of the day.

On the upside, there is a heap of fresh water flowing through the gorge and beautiful for swimming. There were even a few half decent rapids forming in the section between Z-bend and Fourways. enjoy!

More detail on the Kalbarri fly situation. Entomologist says situation should improve soonish. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-01/fly-plague-strikes-mid-west-and-gascoyne-wa-towns/6435932

Yep, just talked to someone else who was in Kalbarri and Carnarvon and said the same about the flies.
