I have removed the two pegs and loose blocks from Star Wars. Both pegs have been replaced with bolts. The replacement bolts have been moved from the original peg positions to reduce run out and gain better rock.
Peg 1
The bolt is approximately a metre higher than the original peg position.
Peg 2
The 2nd bolt is around 10cm higher and 10cm to the right of the original peg.
I have also added a bolt a foot below the fixed hanger (just below the crux) – shorter climbers can now easily clip the bolt. I left the fixed hanger as it was difficult to remove cleanly and is pretty low visual impact.
I have also added a direct start on the wall below where the first peg was located. This has 2 bolts and ends the rope drag issue.
And yes I did obtain the required permission.
The route now has 8 bolts with 1 fixed hanger and remains one of the best face climbs in Perth. Enjoy
