In the last couple of weeks I have heard of two accidents at local quarries big enough to be mentioned on the news. One at Mountain and the other at Gosnells. Does anyone have any info on these? I would think it would be in our interests to see if it was human error, holds breaking or hardware failing.
    Cheers

From what I’ve heard the accident at mountain may have been a compilation of human error and a flake coming away.
    Not sure about Gosnells.

If your worried about something don’t climb it, if you still climb back gear up the best you can

From what I heard of the Mountain Quarry accident: it was on Power Play, which as has been mentioned on this site the crack/flake has been shifting and should be avoided. It’s a trad climb and some gear popped and while falling the rope was cut on a rock flake. Thankfully the climber was wearing a helmet and is fine.
