Arguably the best outdoor training area in Perth. Most problems involve traversing, with some opportunity for climbing up to 7m height on steep and sometimes overhanging limestone walls. The challenge of the area however is the 3m roof, which starts in the cave. Jugs abound and superb toe locks and heels hooks can be found on the flakes. The easiest line through the roof is about grade 18 and is called Splashdown. Fading arm strength around the lip onto the wall keeps the interest alive. Most find this to be the crux. One point worth mentioning here is that a fall from almost anywhere on this outcrop will land you in the Swan River, so leave all your gear in the car and have fun. Look out for submerged rocks and jellyfish.
