The valley of Chittawarra Brook and its junction with the main Helena Valley is the home to many clusters of small granite boulders. The main area is Llama Rock, with many other small groupings scattered over several square kilometres. Walking in on good dirt roads or tracks is often very much a part of the experience and access times vary from 15 to 30 minutes. The highest routes are only 10 metres high. If you want to be “out there” and crank on sustained routes, go to Mountain Quarry. If you are up for a bit of a granite boulder crawl, dash down to Hardey Road! Best done in cool weather.
