Labour Day long weekend at Mount Frankland

It Seems Like The Curse Of The CAWA Mount Frankland Annual Climbing Trip Getting Rained Out Is Behind Us, Well Almost.

The Mount Frankland trip went ahead over the Labour Day long weekend, despite a few random showers and even heavy rain on Saturday night. But a hardy crew of climbers made the most of the long breaks in the weather.

Many of the classic routes were ticked such as Dickheads and Dinosaurs (21) by Dom, Rob and Larissa; the sandbagged Hannibal (20) saw two ascents from Paul and Dom, followed by Rob and Larissa; Stoned Alone (18) was climbed by Narelle, Veronika and Judd, while Burmese Tiger (17) and Purring Pussies (16) provided either a challenge for those new to leading on a slab or a warm-up before hitting the upper terrace routes.

Overall the trip was a success, held in the beautiful surroundings of Mount Frankland National Park. Bring on the new routine of the trip going ahead with good weather windows.
