The long-awaited Kalbarri trip is just around the corner: Saturday 1st of June to Monday, 3rd of June 2019.
Kalbarri Gorge: A Climbing Paradise
Sheer sandstone walls carved out by the Murchison River provide trad, sport climbing, bouldering, and deep water soloing opportunities. Roughly a 6.5-hour drive north of Perth, Kalbarri Gorge is well worth the trip. Kalbarri National Park offers trad leading in the middle and upper grades, as well as high-level sport climbing. The picturesque setting of Kalbarri Gorge makes it an ideal spot to spend a weekend. Winter is prime climbing time in the gorge, with excellent friction, pleasant temperatures, and no flies.
Weather and Clothing
Check the weather forecast to choose your clothing appropriately. If the forecast announces temperatures below 15 degrees and windy conditions, bring a warm down jacket as it can be very cold in the gorge. Don’t forget sunscreen, which can be a lifesaver, especially for multi-pitch climbs.
Accommodation
We have provisionally booked unpowered camping sites at Murchison Station. Please let us know the numbers as soon as possible if you plan to attend, so we can ensure we have enough space to accommodate everybody.
Registering Your Interest
Please register your interest by completing the online form as soon as possible and no later than 10:00 am Wednesday, 29th May. Once registered, we will send you a confirmation with further details.
