Acetone isn’t really that good. Sure it is an agressive solvent, but it flashes of so quickly that it doesn’t get time to work unless you want to sit there rubbing for ages.

N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone I think is the active ingredient I used a few years back, it’s really quite effective, but doesn’t smell that nice.

Ameron Coatings (now owned by PPG) has a product called Amerase which is formulated to smell bearable. It’s possibly distributed through AMCAP in Welshpool

The other option is Methlylene Chloride which is found in industrial paint strippers, but that is carcinogenic so I would avoid it if possible
