What suburb do you live in (careful what you say though, don’t give personal info away on the net)? If you’ve got time to save a few dollars here and there, the best thing you can do is by a pair of climbing shoes, and the best time is when they’re on sale! 😉
I like to do plenty of bouldering, which is a dignifying way of saying I have no money and find a release in a sport that requires next to no money at all but is still rather difficult!
If you’re anything like me, you’ll go wild for any bit of granite that comes your way, keep an eye out when you’re out with trips on parents for any boulder sets, I’ve dozens of bouldersof which I had no idea existed a year ago and I spent a lot of wasted time, lots of bush walking and heritage trails! Plenty of boulders there!
As someone who only started out about 2 years ago, don’t worry about people who try to tell you what real climbing is and isn’t, all the best climbers in the world practised on things like brick walls, side of houses, plublic walls, all sorts of places like that. You can have plenty of fun climbing if you can think outside the square.
Have fun! 🙂
