Would anyone like to own up to the axe head in First Route at Churchmans about half way, say around where that cam was stuck.

Ramming a large chunk of metal in th form of an axe into the cliff then breaking of the handle seems like a littl overkill to get back a cam, especially in one of the classic routes on the cliff. Actually if it were anywhere else in the world it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to own up!!

Anyone else know anything about it?

      Have fun

So there i was minding my own business while reinacting a scene out of last of the mohicans at the base of churchies when my tomahawk got a mind of its own flew totally off target and lodged itself in a crack half way up the wall.

I climbed up to retrieve my tomahawk to no avail and was so saddened by my loss i just lowered off my cam and went home.

So next time you see a large chunk of metal in a crack dont just assume it was there to get out some booty. Think outside the crack that maybe…..just maybe someone lost the booty gear trying to get back a sentimentally important chunk of metal.

They were my great great grandfathers. I want to claim native title on the area which i will develop into a quarry to improve the climbing at this sess pool of Perth climbing (which in itself is at the opposite extreme to world class climbing).

(:Let the debate begin! Anyone out there going to stand up for Perth.
