      Hi,

Does anyone know if Cornerstone or Hellfire Gulley have bolted belay points on every pitch? Also is there a path or track that leads to the bottom of the climbs?

      Cheers,

      Nat

        1. There are no bolts on BK, save for one route. Bolting is prohibited by the DEC management plan, and has been for the last 20 years.

        2. No. There is a way in, but I would not call it a path or a track, it is hard to find and beyond my descriptive skills here.

          Cheers for the reply,

I know bolting new routes is prohibited but I was under the impression there has been bolts placed for the abseiling groups. I guess I will find out soon.

Abseil companies have in the past failed to get permission for bolts. Be interesting if any have been put in recently. Let us know.
Getting to the base from the tourist path,  the main thing is Not to go up the spur below the main face. Go up the crest of the spur below the NorthWest Bay (right of Middle Line). Cross over before getting to the top. Cross-over is steep, bushy, difficult. The usual error getting to HFG or The Devil’s Nose, is not to go far enough. Though if you find the remains of a sign saying – Summit of Bluff Knol – that’s a bit too far and you’re standing at the impact point for rocks thrown off the top by tourists.
A nice short climb easy to get to from the top is Jet Stream.

              Hi Nat,

I did Cornerstone last year, or at least some variation of it.  Definately no bolts, but I did see one rusty piton….

Wasn’t too hard to find – just went up the tourist track, search around for 2 minutes for the old track, up there, a bit of bushbashing and ended up more or less in the right spot.

Sweet, cheers for the replies. I know one route to the top and it was a bush bash and a half, I was just hoping there was an actual track! Bolts or no bolts it should be awesome fun!

                Thanks again for the info!
