CALM have received reports of falling rocks at Mountain Quarry and are in the early stages of preparing to commission a geotechnical report. Enquiries to CALM’s Michael Phillips 9295 9107.
I was in there on Friday night and small scats were falling from the Black wall and the eastern end of the north wall. It may be of interest to note that these rocks (25 mm diameter) fell as the sun set, i.e. when the rock started cooling down.
Time for climbers to re-scale the walls? That’s what has been done in other quarries used for climbing.
