We spent a bit of time on the design of the bouldering wall as we know how important it is to climbers and to training. Our first design that we presented to the CAWA meeting some time ago and that is currently on the website has completely changed to a new design.

The new bouldering wall is 8 meters long, double sided and is… 5.4m high! It took a great deal of time to find safety matts that passed and exceeded the Australian Standard due to the rediculas hieght. The wall boasts some great lines, overhangs and has two massive 45 degree faces. Given the hieght we will have to enforce a spotter at all times when climbing above 3 meters. We have selected red matts in an attempt to keep the area free from people (kids) using them as a play area and we will have to police the area quite a bit to ensure safe practices are met.

I am hoping to load some of the 3D images of the bouldering wall on to the website today, I will post a note to the forum when that happens. I must admit we are pretty stoked with the bouldering wall, the only other person to have seen it is Wally and even he was impressed which is saying something!!!

We have one half of the SpiderWall to complete then start cladding the Bouldering wall which shouldnt take too long given it is the smallest wall, even at 5.4m!
