Hi guys
I’m a Perth climber in Sweden for the summer and i’ve come across a really cool indoor climbing wall in the small town that im staying in (called Mora, located in the Darlana region, about the size of Margaret River town).
The climbing club (Mora Klätterklubb) have aquired an old, large water tower and over two years have converted it into an indoor climbing gym complete with a bouldering cave upstairs (its on two levels).
Sweden has its own rating system from 1 – 20, from what I can gather. The are apparently many bouldering spots around the region though the rock is too cold now to climb on. The climbing community is very easy to access and is very welcoming and advice even easier. They’re very proud of their climbing hangouts, (Göteberg is suppoed to be the bees knees).
Went for a run in Stockholm last night and there is surprisingly a lot of natural rock in the parklands and Stockholms climbing gym had a very interesting bouldering wall. A 10m 45 section, the bouldering mat was also on a 45 so you are safe the whole way up.
Hope that someone finds this interesting. Hope it doesnt sound like im bragging, i’d much rather be climbing in Perth
