hi all! me and some mates of mine are making a trip to perth from bunbury this coming sunday and monday for the easter long weekend. as we dont get to perth to climb much, and love our outdoor bouldering, where would be the best place to go? or is anyone keen to take us on a trip? let us know!

Walyunga is my favorite but there is still no guide. Very pretty area.

Pipelines has the most problems and they are pretty close together but it’s a bit of a hike in.

Boulder Rock is good and has an easy approach.

Millars has a bit of a drive and a bush bash.

Kalamunda and Dreaded are good but problems are spread out all over the place.

Haven’t been to Mt Cooke, El Dorado (still waiting for a mini-guide), Dead Goat (ditto), Wombat Rocks etc etc…

I reckon Boulder Rock if you don’t have all day and if you do Pipelines. Try them first, then the other ones.

cheers for your advice Mike, we ended up giving pipelines a go and it was a nice day out tho now im definatly gonna have to train some more, got shut down way to often.

Look forward to having a play there again sometime

Onya. Wish I could have gone bouldering on the weekend. Won’t be seeing real rock for a bit.

you shouldn’t be too far from some climbing down south though? Seems like there is a lot of stuff between the capes but I’ve only ever climbed at Whaleback (which was great). I’m not sure but I think Contos Road, Red Rocks (or something), Merchant Rocks and Copper Rocks are all around there. Most of those don’t have guides though.

Good to get shut down sometimes so long as it makes you want to come back harder.

Yeah gonna hopefully head to Whaleback soon, usually climb at Willys so dedicated bouldering trips are a new adventure. thanks again for your advice, i’ll have to try find some info on the other spots down south you mentioned
