Ben HornGuest
Hi, I was up at Kalbarri last weekend to do some bouldering and eye up Keith Goes Blank. From the boulder at the base there didn’t seem to be heaps of passive pro opportunities. I have no friends, just some big nuts (insert canned laughter). Can’t really afford cams at the moment and am wondering if anyone has climbed this with just nuts, hexes and a few tri-cams. The only person I’ve spoken to who has climbed it said he only placed cams and nothing else.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers from Geraldton.
RyanGuestIf you have some tri-nuts (tri-cams) and a range of nuts you will be fine. There is one spot that is nice to have a #3 cam but not essential. Keep in mind it is sustained at 15 for a good 60% of the climb so you want to be solid at the grade. Enjoy!
Ben HornGuestThanks Ryan,
Maybe I’ll go and get a set of tri-cams and a #3 cam before I attempt it. As for being solid at the grade, it’s been a while so I might have to pop down to the Promenade and get a bit of practice in on bolts. Any suggestions for good easier trad routes around there?
Cheers
