So…here is a poem I wrote a couple of years ago, obviously psyched after a trip to Kalbarri!  Hope you enjoy it, there are plenty more where that came from.

      MONKEY BUSINESS

On the road again, packing gear, getting ready for the send..
Dead flat, no turns; time out with good beats and close friends.
Jittering with excitement a 7hr car ride simply cannot tame,
Sleeping in the carpark, waking early for fun and games!

Red sandstone here we come! Walk the gorge- rest- watch it shimmer
Backpacks filled for life; Food- check! Rope- Yep! Au-revoir le beginner.
Rings scattered across nature’s ceiling, a roof with heel-hooks and pump in mind
Yet round the corner hides “Coriander” a leafy challenge, burning skin left behind.

Save the arms for “She Magic”, then “Fuck the Law” for gymnastics and air,
Bold whips and free falling, nothing to hit but space between red stairs.
Come nightfall it’s a Jetboil brew, or beers chilled in flowing gorge water
Headtorch on, part II has begun; the night climb never feels any shorter!

The goats have all fallen, maybe they need a harness too,
No longer will we awaken to clinking hoofs and fresh poo
Kalbarri is Gold, good times assured
Petrol, food, gear, all easy to afford                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A million dollar bills could never ever buy these thrills

Is this life? Well, it’s living
Back to the city where routine is so unforgiving

By Liana Morgan, sometime in 2010, somewhere that was great.

Yuk sorry I said the R word, routine…apologies if that offends you.
