John KnightMemberWow, someone actually went there, have you drawn any topos? Would you be able to post something? I was wondering what someone would rate the slab, do you climb up and over the top?
I’m stoked. 🙂 Has someone climbed this area before me?
Bob GnarlyMemberNo John, noone had any idea the place was there until you told us. But Jim and Matt will sure be just too happy to bash carrots into any pebble you search out for them…..they are a bit too scared to boulder problems 5m high and way desperate for new “climbs”. (There are no guidebooks for bouldering, you see, so no glore there.)
John KnightMemberGroovy, does this mean I can call it nhoj rock or john rock? 😉
AndrewMemberplease dont
Bob GnarlyMemberI would not do that, as ridicule is more likely to follow rather than fame. What does “nhoj” mean anyway ?
John KnightMemberLol, no worries, just having a bit of a laugh. John <-> nhoJ (nickname). As it’s mainly the one rock, I think it’d be good to give the main boulder a name, perhaps something like “Kensitt Rock”.
I think if it had a name of it’s own it’d save time and typing, when people are giving explanations, if they can just say Kensitt Rock instead of “that really big boulder at Kensitt Boulders” it could save some sanity.
John KnightMemberDamn, no wonder I had trouble with that climb yesterday! I was simply going from memory with the descriptions, unknowingly doing “A Black Day for the Greens” thinking it’d be 15! hehe!
Interesting crux move, thankfully it has the large feature (a ledge really) before the top-out. I’m gonna have to have another crack at the crux after I’ve got a bit more nerve (never climb a 21 thinking it’s 15).
Did you guys use the features on the left for “The North Face”? Anyway, lovely route, that 21, gave me strong Elvis legs! 😉
