I’m coming up to Perth soon to meet friends for an abseil and some ropework practise. The big cliffs at Boya are quite something but I’m wondering if there are any bigger drops near Perth?

We’re preparing for an eastern-states trip with 80m pitches.

    Thanks in advance

    Bluff Knoll – 300 metres.

    West Cape Howe – about 100 m.

    Peak Head – about 150 m.

    Thanks

Bluff Knoll’s a bit a drive from Maylands though, for a Saturday afternoon abseil.

How far away is that last one? (Unfortunately, when you hit “Reply” you can’t see the message you’re replying to).

    Hi Peter,

    from Perth, in round figures:

    Bluff Knoll – 400 km

    WCH – 500 km

    PH – 450 km

Probably highest close to Perth is the back wall of Mountain (Boya) Quarry.

    Great

    Thanks Phillip

We’ll be at Boya Saturday arvo then, on the back wall if there is room for us.

As always, we will wander about saying G’day.

Thanks again – that is just what we were after.

    Peter
