The first 2 of 5 new lines are now ready. All lines are located on the back wall of Mountain Quarry and are ideal for summer as they are in the shade until early afternoon.
Both lines have had only 2 ascents and I would appreciate feedback on the grades. Note that they have been graded for leads on sight and with no pre placed gear.
Also both lines have DBBs and a top rope can be set. Best to access the DBBs by climbing Inside Out and then lowering over the belays.
*Luck of the Draw 25m 22
A terrifying weather-making adventure just 5 metres right of Inside Out. Launch from the block and surmount the bulging wall with 3BR to gain the interesting slab above. Ascend the slab with 2BR to gain the anti-ramp. Climb the anti-ramp with its left leaning tendencies and 2BR, and three death defying dance moves past a do or die FBB. Overcome global tilt with another gut-sucking FBB. One more BR to DBB. This superclimb was quarried and bolted over several weekends including at 0700 hours on the coldest morning in recorded WA history. Truscott even bought news shoes after ten years of wearing some old Ron Masters specials. Never, never, never give up according to Winston Churchill. M Rosser & J. Truscott 12 Nov 06
**The Wiz 25m 25
Starts as for Luck of the Draw clipping 1st BR then move right to climb the overlap with 4BR to just below the headwall. Move left at 4th BR to gain the overhanging headwall. Swing into space to gain FBB. Keep going up until you reach the lay-down area. Top section has 2FBB and 3 BR to DBB. M Rosser & D. Zonta 24 Dec 06
