For about 6-7 months, my partner and I have been working our way through a set of boulders near our house.

The boulders can be found ~350m along the granite trail (a real name) from the donut carpark at the top of Mt. Clarence. You can not miss them as you almost walk into the first problem (we call it Monkeyboy due to the way you look towards the top).

Once at Monkeyboy, just head into the bush, try not to disturb the entrance to much so as not to draw to much attention to the local bottle smashing bogans.

Once you crash through 3m of light scrub, the area opens on to an are of boulders that go on for 30m.

Everything from 2-8m, crimping, smearing, finger & hand cracks, chimny’s, lunging jugs and slappy slopes.

Not toooo much in the way of moss etc and what’s there just wipes of with hands or shoes. There are some ify landings, most are good.

We are not really into the rateing game, but I would rate most as Vgf (Very good fun), some as bloody frustrateing and a few as pant pooers.

Not wanting to disrespect anyones first sends here, we are calling this area top rocks and have named many problemes so that we know where each ohter is talking about.

They were most likely first sent over 400 years ago barefooted by someone scanning for tukka.

If can’t find the area or want to set me straight on something, Duncan at MD can pass on a message or you can find us pulling plastic at A.L.A.C wall Fridays 5:30PM to 7:00PM (we have a standing booking).

    I forgot to add.

There are nice shady areas, sheltered from wind, a great picknick slab and the best bit, near on 360 killer views when you step up from the last move.

A definate dawn to dusk event.
