We tried to access Mt Lindesay this week (near Denmark). Unfortunately, Nutcracker Road has been closed at the Mt Barker-Denmark Rd turnoff and we were unable to find another way in (in a 2WD). Note that Stan Rd. does not connect to anything, contrary to our Country Road Directory. And don’t try Granite Road in a 2WD! We ultimately hiked to the top of Mt Lindesay (1.5 hrs) only to discover that the climbing areas were another 1 hr hike away to the East. Anyone trying to climb at Mt Lindesay shoud check out Google Earth to make alternate plans for the approach. But the view from the top *WAS* beautiful.

    Hi Stephan,

And also, DEC have banned climbing on Mt Lindsay as there is a area of endangered flora there. We are discussing this one with them as we hope there is someway for climbers to get in and out without causing any disturbance.

    Cheers,

    Toc.
