This might be of interest to some, or it might be old news, in which case I apologise!

Was just googling boulders in the area and came across this (check out the 2nd photo):

So I did some more searching and discovered a hiking website with lots of galleries. I searched the site for boulders, and had a flick through. These ones look pretty interesting:

    Geddes rock

    Mount Solus

    Flynn Hills

    Boyagin Rock

Have any/all of these been explored already? I’d be interested to know if any of them are any good.

Hey Robin– good find– i have that same GPS walking website bookmarked and thought it would be a good source of new area ideas but i didn’t find that stuff. I’ll be back in Perth in a couple weeks and maybe we’ll try some of that– Geddes and Mt Solus especially look cool. We are keen to put up more new stuff at Walyunga though, and it’s closer… come along sometime if you like.

yes there is still lots to be found. eastish of mt cook and beyond there have been many exploratory trips by various parties. lots of bouldering done and a fair bit of bolting too.

    it’s more a journey of discovery…..

some of the best finds have been in the sandy flat lands in between the granite monodocks (eg wombat rocks).

Neil, do you know if any of the areas I posted links to have been explored? Might save someone a wasted trip if you had some info!

I’ve seen the Wombat Rocks photos here

    – but where are they? do you have any directions?

I know a lot of people would be keen to hear about new developments…
