Just moved to Margs a couple of weeks ago to make some wine in the area. Looking to get (back) into the sport of rock climbing and it seems like there’s a lot of sweet places here.
Basically I’ve done a bit of climbing (top rope) in gyms here and there but nothing for the last couple of years. I don’t know any climbers in the area, and I’m wondering what my best options are to get onto some crag. Should I start with a course from the local climbing company in leading and top rope and go from there, or just try and meet local climbers to show me the ropes? I have my own harness and shoes and belay device etc.

Hey Paul, there is fair few climbers down here and nearly always someone to climb with. There is also a gym opening soon in Dunsborough…
Prob best to get in touch with Mick from Margaret River Climbing Co. He offers courses and has the best local knowledge.
See you out there mate, all the best.14 January 2013 at 9:06 AM #44672GarethGuest
