      Hello,

Any recommendation for a physio that might be particularly suited for climbing injuries?

I strained a bicep back in February, and it never fully healed although it disappeared for a few months. Today I seem to have done the exact same thing to my other bicep and spent the evening in mild agony. It happened as I starting falling and automatically grasped like hell with my remaining hold.

      Thanks, JC

        Hi JC,

I have been going to a good physio that is excellent in shoulder injuries.

Brett Slocomb at Cottosloe Sports Physiotherapy.

It’s a long way to travel if you don’t live down that way though.

        Good luck.

Well my preference is near Mt Hawthorn, or Nedlands, or in between. But if there are no other suggestions, Cottesloe isn’t really far. Thanks Kate!

            Hi,

Chris Perkin is very good with recovery from muscular injuries.

            215 Nicholson Road, Shenton Park

            Tel: +61 (08) 9381 7940

I’m no physio, but what seems to have worked for me with another muscular injury is: Light climbing for a few weeks and then step it up slowly. Rest few days in between sessions.

Also some very light shoulder exercises to build up rest of the shoulder, which doesn’t get worked during climbing (push ups, side lifts, front lifts)

            Good luck mate,

            Hynek
