Hi guys,
I am from Perth but have never climbed and have been living in the UK for the past 2 years. I’ve met a bloke over here who’s an intermediate climber and I’m bringing him back to Perth in Feb to meet the parents. I’d love to point him in the direction of a nice spot for a climb so I can convince him how great WA is. I’m going to be taking him to Margaret River but I saw climbing is prohibited in Wallcliffe which seems to be the nearest climbing spot, is that correct? Is there a place you’d recommend somewhere between Perth and Margaret River, ideally even with other climbers about seeing I’ll be as useful as a chocolate teapot to him 🙂Many thanks,
Lianne
AngGuestTry Willyabrup. Really picturesque and great climbing. Sea cliffs with a good selection of sport, trad and mixed climbs and pretty rocky little bays to explore or sun bake on the rocks for the non-climber. Right next to it is a small beach with a lagoon that fills up in the afternoons so you can go paddling/swimming without being bashed against the rocks or swept out by strong currents. Plenty of wineries and microbreweries in that area too 🙂
AngGuestYou can get info/directions under the Climb heading top of the page, Southwest, Wilyabrup.
LianneGuestThat’s brilliant thanks very much Ang 🙂
