Hi just wondering how many people are doing this ?

I started a few weeks ago because I’m currently not allowed to climb due to an injury.

Currently it’s just been me and a few mates mucking aoud attempting to stand and balance as long as possible, which has been great fun.

If others frequent this activity I’d been keen for a catch up to checkout others skills in person rather than surfing the net for inspiration and maybe get some tips too.

          Hi guys,

We’ve just started doing a bit of slacklining too over the last few months. We’ve just started using a trick line which weve found is a lot easier for beginners and for moving onto more difficult movements (walking around, for us). One problem we have had is using a knot that will retain tension over time (won’t slip progressively down reducing tension over 30mins or so.

Our plans are to eventually move into highlines when we are good enough.

If there is a bit of a community for it, maybe we could arrange a meet-up 🙂

          Cheers,
          Matt

I’ve also wondered what sort of slacklining community there was in WA. I’ve only done it a few times but would be keen to meet up and pass information around at least. There are lots of tricks wrt technique and setup that we are learning the hard way.

I’m keen to meet up with others.

Would be interested to see what a trick line would be like to use, I’m guessing its a gibbon ? or 2″ line ?

As for knots, I use as little as possible, usually just water knots on the anchor slings and line lockers everything else stays in place with friction …… so far

After an awesome weekend I’ve decided to invest in another line, this time a jib line that’s 2″ wide which should be an interesting change from my current line that’s about half the width.

Hoping it arrives before the bad weather hits again.

                    🙁
Couldn’t get free for it tonight. Hopefully we can set something up on another sunny day.
I saved your number and I’ll shoot you a message when ever I do a big setup or planning a day of it.
