If you have been to Stathams Quarry lately, you will have observed a large (and unfortunately, growing) number of debris from the old-age tradition of “lets-throw-things-off-the-cliff-because-we-don’t-have-anything-better-to-do”.
Each time I have been climbing there, I have removed a box of rubbish. It didn’t take me long to do this.
Whilst CAWA will be speaking to the DEC to see what can be done, if everyone helps to remove a little bit of debris each time – it will go a long way to improving the safety and asethetics of the Quarry.
If you can help out – please use gloves, as there are many sharp items & broken glass.
