Was climbing No Ordinary Determination at Statham’s Quarry this morning and a 1m section of rock came off where the slab meets the face above. Following this, lots of loose 20cm blocks were coming out of the newly created hollow. There’s still a fair few of these loose bits in there. My concern is that this missing section now jeopardizes the integrity of the face above. I won’t be climbing this again. Boulder Dash next door is also slightly effected.

Wow, were you pulling on the flake or jamming gear in it ?

Hope your belayer was wearing a helmet

I fell from the anchors to the last bolt and my feet hit the section that fell (I think). The rock fell 5m from the base so belayer was fine. I felt more worried for Scottie the dog!
