west cape howe is not for the faint of heart. i grew up looking at the headland almost every day i surfed. its an awesome place, possibly some of the best ocean cliff climbing you’ll find. there was a recent fatality involving some swiss based climbers…tragic but perhaps a useful reminder.
you’ll find much of what you climb in west oz pretty bold and many a “sport” route demands rather peculiar equipment with some poor quality bolting. however, there’s a few sites that are pretty well protected sport wise. the bouldering can be fantastic for those with a joy for exploring, i strongly urge you to take crash pads with you.
enjoy the wilds, the sense of space will be the most impressive thing you’ll experience.
