If you happen to see two bogans tearing around mountain quarry in red 4×4 please do your best to cause them some form or harm…
I was out there today belaying my mate as he was cleaning sylvia. The said bogans pulled up next to my car parked at the base of playboy, opened the drivers door (as I was yelling at them), pinched my phone which was on the seat (and not my wallet for some reason), jumped back on the 4×4 and took off down the track before I could lower my mate to the ground.
How cheeky is that?!!
That is incredible ! Looks as though we were visited by the same guys saturday (yesterday) morning at Stathams.
They arrived in a 4×4 red nissan patrol (I think)..with raised supsension and a P plate. 4 guys.
They turned around after yelling something incomprehensible..
If anyone sees a vehicle like this in the quarry, try and get the plate number
Don’t you wish you could catch them, tie them up and then watch them cry when you smash their car to pieces with a sledge hammer.
After you’ve violated all them with your cams. 😉 That’ll be hard to remove.
Sorry, by 4×4 I meant 4 wheeled offroad motorbike thing
Crooks are getting braver…
I understand that Owen is upset and this may sound woosy but do not confront cars or bikes full of bogans unless there is lots of you. If people are on speed (More likely than you would think), you will simply not beat them. They also may have knives and/or be a lot better in busting your brains out than you. A fair bit of jujitsu experience has taught me not to pick fights with anyone, funnily enough (unless you have to or are with Shane Shaw), a phone or whatever is not worth a cracked scull. Take details, notify DEC, file police report. It will improve your longevity. Also lock gates and cars. Amen.
You’re probably right Ross
How about a non-confrontational form of harm? Like a clothesline? Doesn’t quite have the same resonance as the cam up the clacker idea
Hi all,
Some of us met with DEC representatives yesterday. Among the discussions were of course the quarries. This sort of behaviour is part of the reason the gates are there to begin with. They should be locked behind you but that won’t stop the quad bikes. Report them.
DEC are looking at ways to make the system more streamlined, and also at the 40 person limit, which we argued was applicable to abseiling as the sites are limited, but not to climbing. CAWA would like to know about further aggressive behaviour from commercial operators as they can and should be reported. We suggest climbers allow the commercial operators the areas they use while they are there, but in return we expect consideration from them.
Cheers,
Toc.
heh Ross thanks for the vote of confidence mate, however I also know how to run fast also mate 🙂 just in case they are bigger then me….. Still over the years of serving legal documents I have only been stopped once and that was with a large iron bar that was aimed at my head and if I had not got my arm up to defend it in time I would have been in trouble.
