    Hi guys,

I’ve been doing a few of the easy, well protected trad leads at Churchmans Brook (Pink Knickers, First Route, Caledonian Way, Lost Arrow etc.) Does anyone have any recommendations for any well protected climbs 15 or below elsewhere around Perth?

    Cheers,

Darlington – Fryaway. Very well protected. I think it is a grade 13 or 12. It is a fun climb.

Mount Cuthert has a couple of easy well protected trad climbs, but they are fairly unexciting but still good for practicing placing gear.

Margaret River has heaps at willyabrup. But it is a bit of a drive from Perth. Definetly worth the drive though.

    Hi Matt,

    Perhaps try:
    Wungong Valley, Gully Route 11
    Stathams Quarry, Hipster Crack 15
Kalamunda, Samaritan Crack 14 (Fist size crack!)
Boomer Crag, Pretence and Manipulation 13 (hard start for the grade imho)
Scott St Quarry, Craptastic Crack 15

    All the best

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the tips, I’ll work through them to build some skills. I tried Fryaway at Darlington Boulders on Saturday and it was exactly what I was after.

    Cheers,

Also, maybe try Krakaddiction (16) at Barrington Quarry. Easy to protect, and a decent climb. I found it only slightly harder than Pink Knickers.
