Hi there, I am from New Zealand and have just recently moved to Perth. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to rack and place removable hanger plates as these are new to me. Don’t seem to exist in NZ. I was at Mountain Quarry yesterday and it required hard work and both hands to place and I was thinking there must be an easier way that only involves one hand. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Do you mean how you attach and remove them from your harness? Most people simply store them in their chalk bag.

Yeah, keeping them in your chalk bag whilst climbing is the easiest way to grab them when needed. As for placing them on the bolt – this should only require one hand. As long as the hanger fits the bolt, which it should, you should be able to slip it on without too much trouble

And a tip – wire gate carabiners are known to be pretty dodgy when used on removable hangers (the hanger can potentially come off the bolt)
