Summit Climbing is the vision of long-term friends and climbers, Damien Hall and Nigel Ray. We started out in the climbing gym business in 2011. Our goal is to increase the profile and participation of climbing in WA.
Summit Climbing Malaga (formerly City Summit) was designed and built as a custom climbing centre. We developed climbing courses to assist existing climbers and invite new climbers to the sport, a first for WA. In addition, we started training and teaching climbers to improve and get stronger at their sport. Similarly, we welcomed a new generation of climbers into our Kids Club. All of which helped create the amazing community of climbers we have in Perth.
Summit Climbing put WA and our athletes on the national stage by sending our youth nationally to compete. Likewise, we work with schools to get climbing into their curriculum and help local youth to train and develop their climbing skills and self-confidence.
From here Summit Climbing grew to a second gym in West Perth.
In 2017 we launched Summit Climbing Walls to share our extensive knowledge for design, construction and operations with new gyms, schools and community centres. We build custom climbing walls and training programs for venues throughout Australia. Our climbing walls are designed to meet the unique needs of climbers and to challenge and engage them with their sport.
