What: CAWA Annual General Meeting 2013
When: Wed 27th Feb, Registrations from 5.30pm. AGM will run from 6pm – 9pm

Why: Elect 2013 CAWA Committee, see how and what your Association is doing in 2012/13, vote on CAWA Photo Comp entries, listen to an inspiring local climber and catch up with friends and fellow climbers!
Who: Open to all current CAWA members as well as non-members (family, friends, colleagues, climbers new to WA etc etc). Entry is free to non-members, although only members will be able to vote. Non-members will be able to join on the night (it will be the relevant six month membership.)
THIS IS CAWA’S ANNUAL GET TOGETHER. IF YOU ARE A MEMBER, YOUR ATTENDANCE IS GREATLY ENCOURAGED AND APPRECIATED AS IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO SEE WHAT YOUR ASSOCIATION IS DOING AND HAVE A SAY TO CHANGE AND INFLUENCE THOSE ACTIONS. AS A MEMBER YOU CAN BRING TO THE AGM ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION, YOU CAN NOMINATE FOR COMMITTEE POSITIONS AND BE INFLUENTIAL IN THE DIRECTION CAWA IS TAKING. THERE WILL ALSO BE SOME SPOT PRIZES, A STUNNING PRESENTATION OF A FIRST ASCENT ON NANGA PARBAT AND THE PHOTO COMPETITION FOR YOUR PLEASURE. SO PLEASE MAKE A SPECIAL EFFORT TO COME ALONG, CATCH UP WITH YOUR CLIMBING FRIENDS, SAY HI IF YOU ARE NEW, AND ENJOY THE EVENING.
Proxy: If you cannot make it, please be aware that as a member you are required to provide a proxy notice. A proxy is a notice of intent that shows that you have nominated someone to vote for you for the evening’s events.
The CAWA AGM is required to have at least one third of the number of members present, or accounted for with a proxy form in order to hold the event. Without meeting this requirement, the meeting will need to be rebooked for the following month and people encouraged to come (or their proxy forms sent in) until a quorum is reached. This is to ensure that the new committee can be elected, new events organised and you as CAWA members have a say in what goes on with the Association and the events that it holds.
AND, after a raging success last year, there are lots of GREAT reasons for you to turn up this year… Prizes, a photo completion, a visionary, highly experienced, local guest speaker, as well catching up with old friends, meeting some new ones and new this year: pizza and soft drinks! You’d be silly to miss it!
