hey guys
Just passed through chinas Yunnan province and saw heaps of good rock. like a plain then spears of rock would just jut out. flat then a 300m cliff. seemed insane, i was on the train though so the rock may well be shit. would be a long way to go to find out.
just thought youd be interested.
John KnightMemberKeep it coming man. 🙂 I like the idea of an alluring piece of rock on the other side of the world. I’d like to try sawa nobori and make a documentary on it, it’s a form of Japanese mountain climbing where you climb a mountain by following a stream bed.
Like I said, keep it coming, I want some expeditions on my todo list. 😉
Cheers mate!
andrewMemberturns out theres cool climbing in norway too and i have a free place to stay there. will be there in a few weeks so will let you know
DinahMemberYeah an Andrew Travelog would be great so keep it coming.
AndrewMemberHi again,
Havent spied much other rock since china. ive been sitting on transport for days getting to sweden. but sweden has some great, but expensive indoor rock climbing gyms. one in stockholm had a long 45 degree bouldering roof with a sort of foam slippery slide all the way up, lots of bouldering there. i found what sounds like some good climbing in russia while reading a lonely planet on the transsiberian but i dont have it handy so i cant share at the moment. i had hoped id have something better to report.
oh the town of Mora (in sweden), about the size of busselton has a climbing club which has made a climbing gym out of an old water tower, though i have yet to see this.
