I’ve got a few days in Margaret River at New Year and would quite like to track down some bouldering, as I don’t really want to carry a rope and rack halfway around the world with me.
Can anyone shed any light on any potential destinations? Beach side would be good, but I’m not that fussed.
Cheers
KrisMemberWhaleback for sure!! See the mini guide on this site. It’s F@#king Mint.
Moses Rock is also pretty good and there both on the beach!!
SimonMemberBrilliant – that looks great. Thanks…
EddMemberHey
Down at Conto rd there is also merchant rock. It rocks as well.
SimonMemberOne other thing – is there anywhere near Perth that might be in reasonable condition that time of year? I’m not expecting amazing conditions, but from what I’ve read Kalamunda for instance would be a bit hot and sweaty.
Is there anywhere else that might be suitable?
KrisMemberBoulder Rock (see mini guide), is Wicked but hot…..everywhere is hot in perth. Just deal with it or get up REALLY early or go ther late arvo!
I also like Toodjay Boulders but you WILL donate skin to the boulders! Ther are some mini guides around that are pretty cruisey to read and very helpful. If all else fails you can go bouldering at Blackwall Reach and if you get hot just let go and fall into the Swan River.
