Noticed a bolted line while down at WCH earlier this year and was wondering if anybody new the details.

The climb is in the ‘First Route Gully’ area and appears to start about 3m right of ‘An Easy Day For Gentlemen’.

The climb heads up superb orange/black rock on the bulging blunt prow which runs parallel to ‘AEDFG’ and is slightly overhanging for much of the route. About 40m long, the climb is conspicuous for it’s glued in stainless U-bolts, of the like I haven’t seen at WCH before. I could see about 6 well spaced U-bolts plus some natural pro. Estimate the grade in the early 20’s,

Looks like a nice route with excellent rock and superb exposed position motoring up the steep prow, as I mentioned, the presence of U-bolts is unsual for West Cape Howe.

Does anybody know about this route?

    Brett,

I will post this to the S.C.U.M mail list to see what any of the other local climbers here know about it.

    Spud.

re. line to the right of An Easy Day For The Gentleman.

This line is “Havana” gr.19 put up by R. Tyson circa 1998.
