Trip to Kalbarri, July 2020

After A Few Months Of Perth Isolation, Everyone Was Excited To Get Away To Sunny Kalbarri For Another Great Trip.

Jiri was an all-round guru, helping everyone experience the sandstone climbing around the adventure wall, pit and promenade for the first couple of days.  Some top ropes were set up over “Peanut butter and Jam (19)” and “9-6=3 (15)”  as well as Obscene gesture (18) and Escalade (20).   A few people pushed themselves on some of the steeper routes, setting up Crankshaft (24), Heavy Petting (24), Super funky (25) and She Magic (26).  Lilly cruised her way to the top of Heavy Petting, and showed us all just how much hard climbing you can fit into a day, and then finished it all off with being benighted on Wombat Amnesia (15).

The Sunday was spent exploring the beautiful areas around Four Ways. There were a lot of easy grade trad climbs set up and a lot of fun was had! Stellar wall provided the afternoon entertainment, the best of the routes being The Aimless Blade of Science (20) and Absence of the Bear (24). The big day ended as you would expect- with a good pub feed!
Some of us had departed by Monday morning, but those who remained had some practice with top belaying on the tourist wall over Keith Goes Blank (14) and the climbs either side.

Thank you to every one who made the trip so enjoyable, hope to see you out on the rock soon ?
